Total funding of 6.75 million NOK was awarded from the PETROMAKS program, representing a significant part of the project's total budget of 15 million NOK. The project was one of 9 that received support out of 39 other applications.

PETROMAKS is one of 7 major programs in The Research Council assisting in implementation of the strategy initiative OG21 (Oil and Gas in the 21st century). The overall objective of the program is to enhance the next 50 years of oil-related activity and secure gas production in a 100-year perspective.
